Code of Conduct
The Industrial Registry is a Public Service Office under the Public Service Act 2008.
The Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service (the Code) is one of the many initiatives being implemented across our state to strengthen Queensland's integrity and accountability framework.
The Code was approved by the Premier on 29 November 2010 and came into effect on 1 January 2011.
The public service is entrusted with public powers and resources that need to be used for the common good of the community. The Public Sector Ethics Act 1994 sets out four principles fundamental to open, transparent and accountable public administration.
The four ethics principles that underpin the Code are:
- integrity and impartiality
- promoting the public good
- commitment to the system of government
- accountability and transparency.
These principles form the standard of conduct expected by all public service employees and underpin all departmental policies, procedures and management practices to assist employees in undertaking their jobs.
