Hearings before the Court or Commission are recorded by Auscript Australasia Pty Ltd who provide recording and transcription services to the QIRC.
A transcript may be issued by the Industrial Registry in electronic form, free of charge, to a party to the proceeding, or that party's representative.
The Registry will only issue the transcript via email at the request of a party or a party's representative. The request must be made on the transcript order form.
Auscript owns the copyright of transcripts. Hard copies of transcripts can be obtained from Auscript at a cost. The Registry does keep a copy of the transcript on the relevant case file. By arrangement with the Registry, the transcript of a particular case may be read by practitioners or an interested party except where the Commission has ordered that the transcript is available only to the immediate parties. Some advance notice is required in order to retrieve the case file.
If you are not a party to the matter or a party's representative, further information on obtaining transcripts can be found on the Auscript website or by telephoning 1800 287 274.
